Managing CMSC Courses

This guide will walk you through the various features and functionalities of the MSC Courses page within the Mindful Self-Compassion Administration Center. This page is your central hub for managing all aspects of the courses offered through the platform.

Key Navigation Elements:

The MSC Courses page is designed for intuitive navigation. Here are the elements you'll encounter:

  1. Search Bar:

    • Located directly below the main "MSC Courses" title, labeled "Search".
    • How to use: Type your search query (e.g., a course title, part of a course title, or an ID) into this field to quickly filter the course list. The results will update dynamically as you type or after a brief pause.
  2. Filter Options (Chips):

    • Next to the search bar, you'll see interactive filter "chips" that allow you to refine your course list based on key attributes:
      • CMSC Certification: Clicking this allows you to filter courses by their associated certification categories.
      • Status: Clicking this allows you to filter courses by their publication status.
    • How to use: Click on a filter chip to open a dropdown or selection menu. Choose the desired filter option, and the course list will update accordingly. Selected filters will appear as active chips.
  3. "Show Columns" Button:

    • Located on the far right above the table.
    • How to use: Click this button to customize which columns are visible in the course listing table, allowing you to tailor the view to your needs.
  4. Pagination and Display Options:

    • Located above the course listing table, these controls help you manage the display of courses:
      • X of Y row(s) selected: Indicates how many courses you have currently selected using the checkboxes.
      • Rows per page: A dropdown (defaulting to "50" in the image) to control how many courses are displayed on a single page.
      • Page X of Y: Shows your current page number and the total number of pages.
      • < First, < Previous, Next >, Last >: Navigation buttons to move between pages of courses.
    • How to use: Adjust "Rows per page" to see more or fewer courses. Use the pagination arrows to navigate through your full list of courses.
  5. Course Listing Table:

    • This is the central display of all your courses. Each row represents a single course.
    • Columns :
      • Checkbox: On the far left of each row, use these to select individual or multiple courses for bulk actions. A master checkbox at the top allows you to select all visible courses.
      • ID: A unique identifier for the course.
      • CMSC Certification: Displays a colored tag indicating the course's certification status (e.g., "Fierce Self-Compassion," "Mindful Self-Compassion"). Clicking the column header allows you to sort by this field.
      • CMSC Course: The full title of the course. Clicking on the column header allows you to sort alphabetically.
      • Order: The numerical order of the course. Clicking the column header allows you to sort by order.
      • Enabled: A toggle switch indicating whether the course is active/enabled on the platform. Click the switch to toggle its status.
      • Updates: Shows the status of course updates (e.g., "Update Pending").
      • Edit Button: An icon (pencil) to open the individual course editing page.
      • More Actions Menu (Three Dots): A dropdown menu next to the Edit button for additional actions related to that specific course (e.g., "Delete,"History").
  6. "Add Course" Button:

    • A prominent blue button located at the top right of the page.
    • How to use: Click this button to be redirected to the "Add New Course" form, where you can create a brand new course entry.

Managing Courses:

Once you've navigated to the MSC Courses page, you can perform various management tasks:

  • Searching and Filtering Courses:

    • Use the Search bar to quickly find courses by name or ID.
    • Utilize the CMSC Certification and Status filter chips to narrow down the list based on specific criteria.
  • Editing a Course:

    1. Locate the desired course in the listing.
    2. Click the Edit (pencil) icon in the far right column of that course's row.
    3. This will take you to the individual course editing page, where you can modify details, content, and settings.
  • Adding a New Course:

    1. Click the "Add Course" button located in the top right corner of the page.
    2. You will be directed to a form where you can input all the necessary information for your new course (e.g., CMSC certification category, name, credentials required, order, status, etc.).
    3. Save or publish the course once complete.
  • Toggling Course Enabled Status:

    1. Locate the desired course in the listing.
    2. Click the toggle switch in the "Enabled" column for that course.
    3. The course's status will change instantly, affecting its visibility on the platform.
  • Sorting the Course List:

    • Click on the column headers (e.g., "ID", "CMSC Certification", "CMSC Course", "Order") to sort the course list in ascending or descending order based on that column's data.
